Camelot is episode 20 of season 9 of Stargate SG-1, first aired in 2005.
The Sangraal trail leads to Camelot, a village awaiting Arthur's return that guards Merlin's library behind a holographic black knight. While Daniel pries loose the wizard's secrets, every available fleet, Earth's, the Jaffa's, the Asgard's, even the Lucian Alliance's, converges on the completed supergate deep in space. The gate opens: four crusade ships come through, and the apocalypse begins.
Why it matters to the mythology
The Battle of the Supergate turns into a massacre: the allied fleet is swept away, and the Ori crusade sets foot in the galaxy as a conqueror.
The review
A finale of deliberate darkness: the series summons every ally the galaxy has to offer and has them pulverized in ten minutes of one of the franchise's finest space battles. The lesson is brutal: nine seasons of accumulated power count for nothing against the Ori. Camelot and its pixel knight add an enchanting Arthurian touch. We leave season 9 in full rout, every hero scattered among the wreckage, and with a wild urge to know what happens next. A masterful cliffhanger.
