The whole site in English

Menus, pages, buttons, error messages, games, profile, rewards: everything has been translated. The English site lives under /en, and French keeps its usual addresses.

Why

Stargate is a worldwide saga, and so is the #SaveStargate campaign. Now English-speaking fans can come, read, play and talk with us.

For you

You can share the site with friends abroad. Your account, your Shards and your progress are the same in both languages.

A flag-shaped language button

Top right, a round button, half French flag, half British flag. It opens a small menu to pick your language.

Why

So you can find it instantly, without taking room in the menu.

Switching language keeps your place

If you switch language halfway down a page, the new version opens at the same spot, not back at the top.

Why

So you never lose track of what you were reading.

The full encyclopedia in English

All 520 Universe entries (characters, peoples, planets, ships, technology) have an English version using the original names. Automatic links between entries work on the English names too.

Episodes and films with their original titles

On the English site, every episode carries its original title (“S1E2: The Enemy Within”), including all 26 episodes of Stargate Infinity. The 353 episode pages, dubbing, universe timeline, history and interviews are translated.

Games in English, with the names you know

The games use the names English-speaking players know: 1 vs. 100, Stargate Wordle, Stargate Pictionary, Timeline Challenge, Bracket Battle, Scratch-Off… The quiz has all 236 questions in English, Scattergories and Bomb Party have an English dictionary, and all three “Would you survive an SG mission?” adventures are fully translated.

An English word of the day

Stargate Wordle will get its own list of English words. Until it is switched on, the English site uses the French word of the day.

News, rumors and podcasts in English

The news feed, rumors, authors and podcasts are shown in English. The latest four articles (#SaveStargate, Michael Shanks, Stargate Exploreur, recruitment) have been published in English.

YouTube players in English on the English site

On the English site, every embedded video opens with the English interface and English subtitles.

Search, ranks and rewards translated

Search (the / key or the magnifier) finds entries by their English name. Ranks, assignments, emblems, titles, cosmetics and gifts all have English names.

RSS feed, calendar and share images in English

The RSS feed, the calendar you can add to your own, and the share images (social networks, Instagram) all have English versions.

The English site can be found on Google

Search engines now know every page exists in two languages, and show each person the right one.

Proper English typography

No more space before colons or French quotation marks on the English site, “the gate” written as in the show, and one single name for the wall: Supporters' Wall.

Switching language keeps your place on the page

When you switch between French and English, you stay on the same part of the page instead of jumping back to the top or further down.

Why

Texts aren't the same length in both languages, so we find the block you were reading, not a pixel count.

Video titles and filmographies in English

On the English site, the titles of our YouTube videos, fandom videos and actors' filmographies now show in English, using the official titles of films and shows.

Why

English-speaking visitors still ran into French titles. Members' messages stay in the language they were written in.

A taste of every section on the home page

The fans' HQ (the duel of the month, Discord, fan of the month), #SaveStargate (the petition counter and a sign button) and Games (four games that change every day) each have their own block on the home page.

Why

So you can see everything that's going on at a glance, without digging through the menu.

The latest Stargate Exploreur episode, automatically

The Stargate Exploreur banner on the home page always shows the latest episode. It used to be stuck on episode 5.

A Videos tab in the menu

A new “Videos” tab between Community and #SaveStargate, with a small dot when a video has come out since your last visit.

The whole site checked on phones and tablets

Over 100 pages checked on small phones, phones and tablets, in French and English. Nothing sticks out sideways anymore, long titles wrap instead of being cut, the header logo is no longer squashed, and small buttons (rating stars, the “seen” box, closing the chat) are easier to tap.

Why

Most of you visit on a phone: the site has to be as comfortable there as on a computer.

Games in the bottom bar on phones

On phones, the games have their own button in the bottom bar, and “Games” is now as readable as the other tabs (it used to look greyed out).

An email box for the newsletter

You can subscribe to the newsletter straight from the home page by typing your email.

Short news items now dated and clickable

The short news items on the home page show their date and link to the article.

Uppercase titles everywhere

News and section titles are in uppercase, accents included, for a more consistent look.

Franchise and Universe no longer overlap

Franchise is “the shows and films” (what you watch). Universe is “the Stargate encyclopedia” (what happens in the story). The timeline and viewing order are no longer repeated in both places.

Why

It was hard to know where to look for what.

Pages reload themselves after an update

If you had the site open during an update, a page could show “connection lost”. It now simply reloads itself.

The logo properly centred

The site's logo is centred in its image, and Stargate Network finally has its own.

TikTok link removed from the home page

The TikTok link on the home page has been removed.

The duel of the month

Every month, two characters face off on a poster. Each member votes once, and the bars move live. The winner is announced at the end of the month.

Why

A fun, simple monthly ritual that gives you a reason to come back.

“Featured this week” fills itself

The latest videos from Stargate channels appear automatically, with their thumbnail and date. Private or deleted videos (the grey boxes) are hidden.

“Happening now” modernised

The liveliest topic up front, the latest threads in forum-style rows, and a podium of the 12 most active members.

A new poll question

This week's poll asks: “Amazon's new Stargate project: what are you hoping for?”

A Stargate Exploreur banner

At the top of Community, a banner leads to the new Stargate Exploreur page.

Live game night redesigned

The live game night page: join a game with a code, host your own, pick the game, and see upcoming nights in tabs.

A better-looking duel poster

The duel poster is wider and shorter, with a header above it, and landscape photos now show the faces in full.

A faster Community page

The Community page is prepared in advance instead of being built while you wait. It opens straight away.

Community stats moved down, colourful HQ tiles

The community stats have a new look at the bottom, and each HQ tile has its own colour.

The fandom directory no longer overflows on phones

The cards of the creators and communities directory now fit on a phone screen.

The Discord bot removed from new members

The new members list no longer shows “Discord” as if it were a person.

Site threads ↔ Discord forum, both ways

The site forum and the “threads-stargate” Discord forum are linked: same categories, same tags with their emojis, same topics, same replies.

Why

Part of the community lives on Discord, the other on the site. Now everyone talks to each other.

Post wherever you like: your topic will be read on both sides.

Forum-style Threads

Categories sit on the left, with a search box and the Recent, Unread, No replies and Following filters. Rows are easier to read (author and time under the title, reply count on the right), with “Show more” at the bottom.

A “Sort” menu and a gallery view

Just like Discord: one button to sort topics and choose the layout, including a gallery view.

A nicer topic page

Each topic has a banner in its category's colours, a summary column and replies shown as cards. The text uses the site's font, like comments.

Two new categories: Introductions and Lore

“Introductions” to say hello to the community, “Lore” to discuss the saga's story and mysteries. Both exist on Discord too.

A deleted topic is deleted on both sides

If a topic is deleted on the site, it also disappears from Discord, and vice versa.

Contribute = the “Help & Suggestions” Discord forum

The Contribute page and the “Help & Suggestions” Discord forum are linked: same categories (Creator, Correction, News, Creation, Entry, Bug, Account, Other), same posts on both sides. Everyone can see suggestions and their replies.

For you

Questions about your account stay private: they go to the team as a ticket, never in public.

A clearer Contribute page

The Contribute page is clearer, and its categories use two columns on phones.

No more odd note under replies

A technical note was showing by mistake under every thread reply. It's gone.

Longer fan fiction

Right now a message is limited to 4,000 characters. We want to allow longer texts for fan fiction.

Chat linked to Discord, with real names

Messages from Discord arrive in the site chat with the real username, the real avatar, the exact time they were sent, and the message they reply to.

Why

Before, everything showed up under the name “Discord”, at the wrong time: you couldn't tell who was talking.

GIFs, just like Discord

A GIF button in the chat, threads and comments. GIFs sent on Discord show up on the site too, and they no longer overflow the chat window.

Not finished yet: For now you paste a GIF link. Built-in GIF search is coming soon.

A phone-style emote picker

Search, categories, bigger emotes and the price shown on locked ones. It opens above everything and no longer overflows.

Why

The old picker sometimes didn't open at all.

Redrawn SGI emotes

The site's emotes have been redrawn to look closer to the show. The Eye of Horus replaces Kree.

A Discord invite that never expires

Every “Join the Discord” button now uses the new permanent invite link.

Why

The old link would eventually expire.

No more double border around the text box

The chat's text box is back to a single, cleaner border.

YouTube links allowed, emails hidden

You can share YouTube links in messages. Email addresses typed in a message are hidden, to protect you.

Link your Discord account

A “Link my Discord” button on your profile, rewarded once with 4,000 XP and 250 Shards.

Tiles with real photos from the saga

Every game has a big photo tile: SG-1, Atlantis, Universe, Origins, Infinity, plus video game covers. Photos are natural, with no filter. Each game's page shows its real photo too.

Blue for solo, yellow for multiplayer

Game titles are in uppercase with a shadow: blue for solo games, yellow for multiplayer ones, with one or two little figures to make it clear.

Why

So you can tell at a glance whether you can play right now on your own, or need friends.

“Featured today” changes every day

The daily pick changes completely every day, so you rediscover games you've never tried.

1 vs. 100 gets its own box and sign-ups

1 vs. 100 is played live once a month. It has its own box at the top of the page with a sign-up button (you need a mic and a stable connection), and a “Restricted access” stamp on its tile.

Game rankings as a podium

Top players are shown on a podium, with the top 10 then “See more”.

A new scratch card, Stargate style

The daily card is framed like a Stargate: metal ring, orange chevrons, and the prize revealed against a starry sky. Scratch with your mouse or finger, or reveal it all at once. Under the card: what your Shards are for.

Stargate · Conquest, a strategy game (test version)

Build your base (naquadah and trinium mines, power plant), run research, build ships (F-302, Ha'tak, BC-304) and send expeditions through the gate. The game keeps going even when the page is closed.

Not finished yet: This is a prototype: your game is only saved on your device. Saving to your account, rankings and multiplayer will come later.

“All” really shows all games

The “All” filter shows every game together. Groups (solo, multiplayer) only appear with their own filter. On phones, games are shown in two columns.

Conquest readable on phones

Conquest's resource names are readable on a small screen.

The Soundboard removed

The Soundboard has been removed from the site.

A grid of big photos

The Universe is laid out in big photos, with a character triptych, illustrated extras, one colour per binder and short texts that are no longer cut off. Binders are grouped by show and by side.

Characters always on top, the rest changes daily

The Characters binder stays first, and the others change order every day to put other entries in the spotlight.

“Also in” as tiles

On an entry, the “Also in” links are now tiles with icons, easier to tap.

Binders scroll with the mouse

Binders said “scroll” but didn't scroll. Fixed, and the mouse wheel scrolls the page normally again.

Character photos fixed

Broken photos (O'Neill, Carter, Teal'c, Eli Wallace, Young, Apophis…) are back, and encyclopedia photos now load reliably.

No more stray tag on entries

A role written with brackets, like “Alexis Cruz (also Skaara, his host)”, created an extra tag. Fixed.

Cleaner tile titles

Tile titles use a single colour, turn yellow on hover, with a stronger shadow and no icons.

The whole YouTube channel on the site

The Videos page reads the channel on its own: videos, Shorts and live streams. At the top, a big 16:9 video with “Subscribe” and “Watch”, which opens right in the page, with a cinema mode.

Full-screen Shorts

Shorts appear as real vertical thumbnails and open full screen: swipe to the next one on a phone, use the arrows on a computer.

Every new video announced

When a video comes out, it's announced in the site chat and on Discord.

“Even more Stargate”

At the bottom of the page, two cards to find clips and behind-the-scenes on YouTube and Facebook.

No more reels or show clips on the site

Reels and clips from the Facebook page are no longer shown on the site. You can still find them on Facebook.

Why

Out of respect for the copyright on the show's footage.

“Watch later” and fan videos removed

The “Watch later” button, the trailers and fan videos block, and the call to submit a video have been removed for a simpler page.

Shorts are back

The Videos page wasn't showing any Shorts. They're back, with a backup list refreshed every 6 hours.

No more ghost live streams

A live stream that was scheduled but never aired (0 views) is no longer shown.

Calmer thumbnails

No more jerky zoom when hovering thumbnails, and a smaller play button on the big video.

The right subscribe link everywhere

Every “Subscribe” button (Videos, viewer, podcasts, radio) leads to the right channel, with the subscribe confirmation.

A streaming-style Stargate Exploreur page

Comtrya Studio's web series has its own page: the trailer in the background (softer, without auto subtitles), a button to turn the sound on, the seasons, and for each episode the player, the synopsis, the credits and comments. New episodes are added automatically.

A LIVE tab when a stream starts

The site detects YouTube live streams on its own, even scheduled ones. 10 minutes before, a tab appears, a small window lets you know on the site, and a message goes out in the chat and on Discord. During the stream, the tab shows “LIVE” in red.

Why

So you never miss a live stream again.

A livelier Podcasts page

Our podcast “Parlons Stargate” front and centre, to listen to right there, and the latest episode of each podcast with its thumbnail and date.

An exploration notebook with a map

Two views, Photos and Map. Search by name, city, episode title or code (“s5e14”, “season 3”), filters by city and region, and a page for each location: episodes filmed there, directions, sources.

A button to save a location, and a “My locations” filter to find them again.

Photos on Stargate Fusion

83 of the 87 locations have a “See photos on Stargate Fusion” button, the partner site that photographed them.

Filming locations in English

The whole page is available in English, with original episode titles and set names.

For now each location shows “Photo coming soon”: we'll only add photos whose author we know.

Correct directions for the US deserts

The two locations filmed in the American desert now give the right directions.

The campaign in 7 slides

The page reads as slides: the campaign, why, take action, the kit, the halo, where things stand, who supports it. On phones, each slide takes its own height.

The signature counter no longer says “0”

The petition counter is refreshed every day from change.org and shows the real number of signatures.

The key dates: the 2025 announcement, the June 2026 cancellation, the new project in October 2026, and the campaign's useful links.

Friends redesigned

Member search, My friends, Invitations and Sent sub-tabs with counters, each person's rank, a menu (message, remove), suggestions and a shortcut to invite someone to a game.
