A planet on the brink of war, and a mirror held up to Earth. Langara is split between three rival nations fighting over a new source of energy. It's where Jonas Quinn comes from, and where our own history plays out all over again.
Overview
Langara is three great nations, Kelowna, Tirania and Andari, eyeing each other with suspicion. The discovery of naquadria, an energy source as powerful as it is unstable, lights the fuse: each one wants to turn it into a weapon before the others. An arms race that looks an awful lot like the Cold War Earth went through.
History
That's what makes Langara so fascinating. This world holds up a mirror to humanity on Earth: the temptation to turn a discovery into a bomb, the fear of the other, the risk of blowing everything up out of pride. Through Jonas Quinn, who betrays his government to prevent the worst, Langara asks a question that concerns us all: how wise are we in the face of the power we dig up?
