Proof that the Asgard keep their promises. Cimmeria is a human world under their protection, and woe betide any Goa'uld who ventures there: an Asgard trap lies in wait, ready to tear him from his host the moment he steps through the gate.
Overview
Cimmeria is one of those worlds the Asgard have taken under their wing, safe from the Goa'uld. Its culture echoes the Norse legends, inherited directly from the Asgard's visits. To its people, Thor and his kind aren't aliens: they're benevolent protectors, almost guardian gods.
Its story
Its defense is brilliant. A device, Thor's Hammer, detects any Goa'uld who comes through the gate and violently separates him from his host, leaving only the freed human alive. No false god can set foot on Cimmeria and live. It's the perfect illustration of how the Asgard protect: no occupation, just technology that keeps watch.
