A peaceful planet, except once a year, when the sky starts to burn. On Edora, a meteor shower turns the night into a flood of fire every year. Beautiful, deadly, and the setting for one of Jack O'Neill's most memorable moments.
Overview
Every year, Edora passes through a debris field, and its sky catches fire. Hundreds of meteors streak across the night in a breathtakingly beautiful, and utterly deadly, spectacle. For its inhabitants, the Edorans, it's a dreaded event: they must take shelter underground and pray the fire-stones spare the village.
History
Edora left a very personal mark on SG-1. Because of one of these showers, Jack O'Neill finds himself stranded on the planet, cut off from Earth for long weeks, convinced he'll never get home. He very nearly builds a new life there. This simple farming world thus becomes the backdrop for one of the most human and moving chapters of the character's story.
