First Prime of the System Lord Ares, a Jaffa warrior devoted to his false god. Trelak is a Goa'uld's strong arm, played by a king of improv.
Overview
Trelak is the First Prime of the System Lord Ares, in other words the commander of his Jaffa armies. A formidable and loyal warrior, he carries out his Goa'uld master's will without a second thought.
His story
When SG-1 crosses paths with Ares, it is Trelak, his military right hand, they run into first. Disciplined and blindly loyal, he embodies the Jaffa still in bondage, the polar opposite of Teal'c's rebellion.
His fate illustrates the price of loyalty to false gods. Trelak is a reminder that, to the very end, the Goa'uld could count on devoted warriors, for as long as the illusion of their divinity lasted.
The actor
Trelak is played by Wayne Brady, an American performer best known as a king of improv on the cult show Whose Line Is It Anyway, and as a TV host. An unexpected and delightful turn as a Jaffa First Prime.
