Kell

Kell was a senior commander in the army of Sateda, Ronon Dex's homeworld, before it was destroyed by the Wraith. A corrupt and cowardly officer, he bears heavy responsibility for the massacre of his own people.

During the Wraith assault on Sateda, Kell sacrificed entire divisions, Ronon's men among them, to save his own skin. That betrayal haunted Ronon throughout his years on the run.

Their reunion, much later, is the moment of reckoning. Kell embodies the worst face of command: the man who sends others to die to protect himself. By contrast, his presence highlights the rage and sense of honor that define Ronon.

Kell is played by Terry Howson, a Canadian actor. He gives the Satedan officer the spinelessness and smugness that make him a memorable traitor.
