Another face of the Aschen, the people who enslave worlds with rigged gifts. Borren is the cold machinery behind the Aschen smile.
Overview
Borren is a member of the Aschen, the civilization that wins peoples over with technological gifts before quietly enslaving them. Alongside Mollem, he embodies the chilling efficiency of this manipulative people.
His story
The Aschen work methodically, almost like accountants of population control. Borren illustrates that bureaucratic coldness, in which the enslavement of entire worlds is handled as a simple matter of yield.
When SG-1 sees through their game, the Aschen show their true face. Borren embodies the administrative side of evil, the zealous executor of a monstrous plan dressed up as progress.
The actor
Borren is played by Robert Moloney, a Canadian actor seen in many series. He gives the Aschen an unsettling neutrality, perfect for this remorseless people.
