A diplomat tasked with negotiating with the Aschen, and a possible love for Samantha Carter. Faxon is the dream of a better future that turns into a nightmare.
Overview
Joseph Faxon is an Earth ambassador tasked with negotiating an alliance with the Aschen, a seemingly benevolent people offering progress and longevity. In one possible future, he also becomes Samantha Carter's partner.
His story
Faxon sincerely believes he is working toward a bright future: the Aschen promise miracle medicine and prosperity. But behind the facade lies a chilling scheme of population control.
When the truth comes out, Faxon is trapped on the other side, sacrificed to the Aschen's duplicity. He embodies the danger of alliances that seem too good to be true, and the cost of illusions when you want to believe in a better world at any price.
The actor
Faxon is played by Christopher Cousins, an American actor the general public later discovered in the cult series Breaking Bad, where he played Ted Beneke. He gives the ambassador a sincerity that makes his disillusionment poignant.
