Origin is episode 3 of season 9 of Stargate SG-1, first aired in 2005.
Daniel and Vala are dragged to the City of the Gods and meet the Doci, the voice of the Ori, then the very flames in which the ascended beings reside. The verdict falls: these intruders' home galaxy is teeming with souls to convert. Back at the SGC, Earth grasps the scale of the disaster: Priors are already coming through the gates, and the crusade is under way.
Why it matters to the mythology
The Ori now know our galaxy exists: the crusade is officially launched, and the Priors are its heralds.

The review
The conclusion of the opening trilogy embraces the grandiose: the City of Origin fills the screen, the ember-eyed Doci makes for a magnificent fanatic, and Daniel's face-off with the flames of the Ori frames the conflict in purely ideological terms, faith against reason. We lose a little of the early intimacy in favor of the epic canvas, but what scope. Season 9 knows exactly where it's going, and it's going there at full speed.
