Overview
An Ancient drone is no mere missile. It's a guided weapon, almost alive, that weaves, changes course and picks its own path to reach its target. Launched by the hundreds, they punch through shields, hulls, even Wraith hive ships. Few defenses hold up against a volley of drones.
Its story
But there's a catch. To control the drones, you have to sit in an Ancient control chair, and above all carry the Ancient gene. Without that gene, the weapon stays silent. That's what makes characters like Sheppard so valuable: they can awaken the defenses of Atlantis where most people would be powerless.
