Velona long enjoyed peace thanks to an Ancient weapon of incredible power, the Sentinel, capable of sweeping away any fleet. But a weapon that makes you invincible always ends up attracting envy.
Overview
For a long time, Velona lived under the protection of the Sentinel, a weapon so formidable that no Goa'uld dared approach it. Two guardians watched over this power, at the cost of their own lives.
History
But relying on a single weapon leaves you vulnerable the day it breaks down. Velona illustrates an idea dear to Stargate: true security never comes from a magic button, but from people willing to fight.
