Before enslaving humans, the Goa'uld had another slave: the Unas. These reptilian creatures were the very first hosts of the parasites. Brutalized for thousands of years, some of them eventually won back their freedom.
Overview
Long before setting their sights on humanity, the Goa'uld used the Unas. These reptilian beings, powerful and resilient, were the first bodies the symbiotes colonized. They carry in their flesh the oldest trace of Goa'uld domination, the origin of this whole story of parasites and slaves.
Their story
But the story of the Unas doesn't end with servitude. On some worlds, they have regained their freedom and developed their own cultures, their own codes. SG-1 will encounter them, and learn to see them not as beasts but as a people in their own right. Their view of the Goa'uld forever wavers between ancient submission and fierce resistance.
