What if a Goa'uld could be an ally? The Tok'ra are symbiotes who made the opposite choice from their cousins: to share a body instead of enslaving it. Spies, rebels, and proof that a species isn't doomed by its nature.
The opposite of the Goa'uld
The Goa'uld take a host by force and crush them. The Tok'ra do the opposite. Symbiote and host live together, talk, and decide together, in complete mutual respect. Two minds, one body, as equal partners. That moral difference sets them apart forever from their parasitic cousins.
Born against Ra
Their name says it all: Tok'ra means "against Ra." They are all descended from a single queen, Egeria, who rejected her own kind's tyranny and spawned a line of rebel symbiotes. Ever since, they have waged a shadow war against the System Lords, through infiltration, espionage and sabotage rather than brute force.
Difficult allies
Allying with the Tok'ra is anything but simple for Earth. They are secretive, cautious, sometimes infuriatingly distrustful, and their methods aren't always ours. But they are precious allies: without their intelligence and symbiotes like Selmak, the war against the Goa'uld would have taken a very different turn.
