A simple Ori villager turned fanatical soldier, then redeemed. Tomin is the ordinary man caught in the gears of faith, and Vala's husband.
Overview
Tomin is a human from a planet under Ori rule. Lame and scorned, he sees his life transformed by his faith and by meeting Vala, whom he marries. Enlisted in the Ori army, he becomes a zealous officer.
His story
At first blinded by the Ori religion and convinced he is serving the good, Tomin takes part in their galactic crusade. But the atrocities committed in the name of Origin eventually open his eyes.
His path toward doubt, then redemption, makes him a deeply human character. He ends up turning against the Ori and reuniting with Vala. Tomin illustrates how a good man can be manipulated, and how he can break free of it.
The actor
Tomin is played by Tim Guinee, a veteran American actor seen in countless series and films, from Iron Man to Person of Interest. He gives the Ori soldier a gentleness and uprightness that make his redemption believable.
