A scholar from an Ori world, keeper of forbidden knowledge about the origins of humanity. Fannis is curiosity and truth standing against religious dogma.
Overview
Fannis is a learned man from a world under the Ori's rule. A member of the resistance, he holds precious and dangerous knowledge: the truth about the Ancients and the real origins of humanity, which the Ori want to erase.
His story
Under the Ori's iron rule, any knowledge contradicting their religion is hunted down. Fannis is one of those who, at the risk of their lives, preserve the forbidden memory.
His help proves crucial to SG-1 in the fight against the Ori's grip. Fannis embodies the scholar as resistance fighter, a man who knows that knowledge is a weapon, and that preserving the truth is, in itself, already an act of rebellion.
The actor
Fannis is played by Paul Moniz de Sa, a Canadian actor. He gives the scholar an anxious gentleness, that of a man carrying too heavy a secret.
