The end of the false gods. For millennia, the Goa'uld ruled the galaxy. And then, within a few years, it all collapses: their slaves revolt, their rivals tear each other apart, and an Ancient weapon changes the game. An empire thousands of years old comes crashing down.
Overview
An empire that old doesn't fall all at once. It cracks. Centuries of Jaffa rebellions, the patient work of the Tok'ra, the endless wars the System Lords wage against each other: all of it eats away at the Goa'uld from within. When their former slaves finally rise up en masse, the whole edifice no longer has the strength to stand.
History
At the same time, the Dakara superweapon comes into play and settles the fate of the Replicators in one stroke. The entire galaxy gets reshuffled like a deck of cards. Yesterday's gods become a hunted species on the run. It's one of SG-1's great culminations: proof that no tyranny, even one thousands of years old, lasts forever.
