Moebius (Part 2) is episode 20 of season 8 of Stargate SG-1, first aired in 2004.
SG-1's alternate doubles have to repair history: go back to ancient Egypt, restart the rebellion against Ra and set the gate back on its course, with the help of the only surviving original, a Daniel from 3000 BC. The timid become heroes, the dead rise again in another timeline, and at the end of the paradox: a pond, two chairs, and fish that didn't exist.
Why it matters to the mythology
The Moebius loop closes: history is restored down to one detail, and the series gives Sam and Jack their final image by the water.
The review
The perfect conclusion to eight seasons: a finale that doesn't try to outdo itself but plays out of love for the game, in which every version of every character gets its moment of grace, right up to the Sam-Jack kiss from another timeline that consoles all of ours. The final shot of Jack's pond, with its paradoxical fish and its four friends at peace, was the most beautiful full stop the series could have given itself back then. Everything that follows is a bonus; this was the end of the great novel. Thank you.
