Allegiance is episode 9 of season 6 of Stargate SG-1, first aired in 2002.
At the Alpha Site, rebel Jaffa, Tok'ra and Earthlings live side by side, and the graft isn't taking: age-old suspicions, insults, then a death. An invisible assassin is prowling the camp, an elite warrior sent by Anubis to make the alliance implode from within. Bra'tac leads the hunt, old-school style, while the allies are at each other's throats.
Why it matters to the mythology
Anubis reveals his stealth warriors and his strategy: destroy the fledgling alliance before it becomes an army.
The review
A besieged-camp episode that raises the real question of the seasons to come: these three peoples fighting side by side cordially loathe each other. The Tok'ra-Jaffa friction rings true, two resistance movements with irreconcilable methods, and Bra'tac as an old bloodhound trapping the invisible enemy with his staff is magnificent. The paranoid chamber piece works well, even if the assassin remains a pretext. Useful and tense.
