Overview
Dr. Robert Rothman is Daniel Jackson's former graduate assistant, now a researcher at the SGC. A brilliant lab man but no seasoned field operative, he finds himself sent off-world, far from his comfort zone.
His story
Rothman is more at ease with books than with weapons. Sent to study a planet, he finds himself up against the Unas and in mortal danger.
His tragic fate is a brutal reminder that fieldwork at the SGC sometimes comes at a terrible price. Rothman embodies those civilian scholars swept up in a reality far harsher than their research, who don't always make it back.
The actor
Rothman is played by Jason Schombing, a Canadian actor seen in many films and series. He gives the researcher a touching, nervous fragility.
