The colonel in command of SG-13, seen on several missions. Dixon is another SGC team leader, played by a cult face of science fiction.
Overview
Colonel Dave Dixon is the leader of SG-13, one of the many teams at Stargate Command. An experienced, level-headed officer and father of a large family, he appears on several memorable missions.
His story
Like Reynolds, Dixon embodies the reality of a program made up of many teams beyond SG-1. He is seen most notably in the two-part episode "Heroes", one of the most moving in the saga, where his team pays a heavy price.
A solid and humane officer, he is a reminder that every mission puts real lives on the line. Dixon gives one more face to the unsung SGC that works far from the spotlight.
The actor
Dixon is played by Adam Baldwin, an American actor with cult status among science fiction fans: he played the mercenary Jayne Cobb in Firefly, after starting out in Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket.
