The founding mistake of the Pegasus adventure. Barely arrived in the galaxy, the Atlantis expedition unwittingly awakens the Wraith, those dormant predators who only feed in cycles. As a result, an entire galaxy finds itself under threat, with the city in the eye of the storm.

Overview

The Wraith do not hunt constantly: they sleep for long periods, then wake up to feed before going back to sleep. While trying to rescue their own people held prisoner in a hive, the Earth team triggers the awakening of far too many Wraith at once, completely out of cycle.

History

The result: starving swarms rise early, and the Pegasus galaxy becomes one giant hunting ground. The expedition realizes the scale of its blunder too late. Atlantis will never be at peace again, and the whole series is built on that original mistake, paid for over many years.
