By Seb O'LearyFounderThe Chevron Alliance: #SaveStargate becomes an international fan organization
Announced at LA Comic Con, The Chevron Alliance is a nonprofit registered in the United States. It takes over the #SaveStargate campaign, aims to bring fans together worldwide, and is already preparing SG-1's 30th anniversary in 2027.
Five months after the cancellation, #SaveStargate isn't running out of steam. It's getting organized.
This weekend, at LA Comic Con in Los Angeles, the campaign team announced the creation of The Chevron Alliance, a new international nonprofit fan organization.
The name wasn't picked at random. A chevron is one of the seven symbols you lock to open the Gate. And the whole idea is to keep that Gate open.

What was announced
The announcement came on October 31, during a panel hosted by #SaveStargate at LA Comic Con, and was confirmed the same day in an official press release.
The Chevron Alliance will be a membership organization: fans will be able to join to connect with other enthusiasts and celebrate the franchise at exclusive events, online and in person.
On paper, it's serious. The organization is registered in the United States as a 501(c)(7), the status for nonprofit clubs. In other words, this is no longer just a hashtag and a petition: it's an official structure with a legal existence.
"We started from a place of shared grief over the cancellation of the show we had been looking forward to. Over the last four months, the entire team watched as the campaign organically grew into this vibrant global community, and we knew fans wanted more than what the #SaveStargate campaign alone could provide."
Shelley Knepley, team lead for the #SaveStargate campaign
Why now
To understand it, you have to remember where the movement comes from.
On June 2, 2026, Variety reported the cancellation of Martin Gero's series, the Stargate continuation ordered by Amazon. It was twenty weeks into preproduction. The fandom reacted within the hour, and hasn't stopped since.
A few weeks later, fans crowdfunded a plane to fly over the studio with a #SaveStargate banner. The online petition passed 125,000 signatures. The campaign showed up at San Diego Comic-Con, DragonCon and Ascension Con, and its social media presence ended up drawing the attention of actors and producers.
Four months on, there's a community, volunteers, contacts and plenty of energy. What was missing was a structure to make it last. That's the role of The Chevron Alliance.
So what about #SaveStargate?
Don't worry: the campaign isn't going away.
#SaveStargate becomes one of The Chevron Alliance's core projects. The goal doesn't change: defend the future of the franchise and respect for its universe.
What changes is the weight behind it. A registered organization is more likely to be taken seriously than a spontaneous movement. One of the stated goals is to eventually open a more official dialogue with Amazon MGM Studios, and to become a recognized voice for what part of the community expects.
The timing matters. Amazon is currently developing a new Stargate project with Jac Schaeffer. The organization intends to defend the ideas #SaveStargate has carried from the start: preserve the franchise's identity, respect its universe and canon, and keep what made the previous series a success.
First big date: SG-1 turns 30
On July 27, 2027, Stargate SG-1 turns 30. It's the organization's first big project.
The Chevron Alliance is already preparing exclusive events to celebrate the anniversary with fan communities around the world, all year long. No details have been shared yet: the program should be revealed with the organization's formal launch.

What we don't know yet
Quite a lot, and it's worth saying.
The formal launch is expected "in the coming months". Until then, we don't know how to become a member, whether membership will cost anything, how the organization will work outside the United States, or what exactly the 30th anniversary program will include.
To be notified as soon as things move, the organization offers a newsletter on its website: chevronalliance.org.
Our take
It's great news, and it makes sense.
A campaign born out of anger burns out fast. An organization can last, get organized, prepare anniversaries and, above all, speak with one voice when it matters. That's what allowed other major franchises to keep a strong community going for decades.
And we're all the prouder to share it because Stargate Initiative has officially been part of The Chevron Alliance since day one. We stood with #SaveStargate throughout the campaign, and we'll stand with them for what comes next.
So we'll follow all of this very closely and share everything The Chevron Alliance announces, in French and in English. For the whole story of the campaign and the mobilization kit, head to our #SaveStargate page.
