Lost is episode 15 of season 1 of Stargate Universe, first aired in 2009.
Left on the ground, Eli, Chloe, Scott and Greer wander from gate to gate through hostile worlds, chasing a ship that won't wait for them. Tunnels collapse on Greer, the addresses chain into a labyrinth, and each of Destiny's jumps reduces their chances of catching up. The race ends by a hair... and not for everyone.
Why it matters to the mythology
The stranded team's odyssey maps the gate network of the distant universe, and leaves Eli, Chloe and Greer behind a second time.
The review
A wandering episode that finally uses the gate network as a wild archipelago: jumping blindly from world to world, with a kino as scout, gives the ring back its scent of deadly lottery. Greer, walled in and revisiting his battered childhood, gains the depth he was missing. And the series dares the sadistic ending: Scott makes it back, the others miss the window. Solidarity, SGU style: real, and utterly insufficient. Gripping.
