Prophecy is episode 21 of season 6 of Stargate SG-1, first aired in 2002.
Jonas starts seeing the future in flashes: a capture, a collapse, an explosion at the SGC. The visions come true one after another while the team prepares to liberate a world ruled by a minor lord, and the question becomes dizzying: can you thwart what you've seen? The price of the gift, meanwhile, is growing inside Jonas's skull.
Why it matters to the mythology
Jonas's visions, an aftereffect of Nirrti's experiments, set up his exit and the return of you-know-who.
The review
A decent precognition episode whose main interest is structural: the series tightens the threads around Jonas ahead of the finale's big shake-up. The paradox of fate is handled without much originality, but the tumor that comes with the gift recalls the house's true tone: in Stargate, superpowers are always paid for in flesh. Decent, functional, a bit forgettable between two major episodes.
