Missing is episode 7 of season 4 of Stargate Atlantis, first aired in 2007.
Teyla takes Keller to New Athos for a routine medical visit... and finds the village empty: her entire people has vanished, tents open, meals abandoned. The two women, hunted by Bola Kai hunters, have to survive in the forest with a bow, a scalpel and very unequal levels of experience. The Athosian mystery is only beginning.
Why it matters to the mythology
The disappearance of the Athosians opens the season's big arc: Michael has started his harvest, and Teyla now carries more than grief.
The review
An effective female survival story that kills three birds with one stone: Keller gets her baptism of fire, vomiting from fear and learning courage on the job, Teyla reveals the extent of her quiet lethality, and the series launches its darkest storyline with a simple image, a village swallowed by silence. The Bola Kai make decent stand-in villains. The final scene, Teyla announcing her pregnancy, changes the whole weight of the affair. Solid and foundational.
