The Hoffans dreamed of a world without the Wraith. They developed a vaccine meant to make them inedible to the predator. The price: one in two people die from it. And they were willing to pay it, all the way.
Overview
For generations, the Hoffans have been looking for a way to escape the Wraith. When their vaccine proves capable of killing the predator that feeds on them, it's an enormous hope. Finally, a weapon against the horror.
History
But the vaccine has a terrible flaw: it's lethal for a portion of those who receive it. Faced with the choice, the Hoffans decide to use it anyway, on a massive scale, even if it means sacrificing themselves. Their story raises a question Stargate loves: how far can the desire for freedom take us?
