Varro

Varro is a Lucian Alliance soldier, one of the invaders stuck aboard Destiny. Unlike the most fanatical of his comrades, he shows a sense of honor and gradually grows closer to the crew.

First a prisoner, then tolerated, Varro slowly earns trust through loyalty and composure. He ends up fighting alongside the very people he was meant to invade, and forms a tender relationship with the medic, TJ.

His journey from enemy to partner illustrates one of the show's strongest themes: on Destiny, survival forces former adversaries to make common cause. Varro embodies the possibility of redemption, even in a Lucian soldier.

Varro is played by Mike Dopud, one of the most ubiquitous actors in the franchise, where he has played a multitude of characters, including the Runner Kiryk in Atlantis. He gives the Lucian a stature and an uprightness that make his change of heart believable.
