A renegade Asgard secretly conducting forbidden experiments on humans, O'Neill among them. Loki is the mad scientist in little-gray form, ready to do anything to save his people.
Overview
Loki is a renegade Asgard, a scientist banished for his forbidden experiments. Convinced he can save his dying people, he abducts and clones humans without their knowledge, Jack O'Neill himself among them.
His story
The Asgard are dying from repeated cloning. Operating outside the law, Loki pursues his own research into human DNA, which he sees as a source of hope. His methods, however, are unacceptable.
His abduction of O'Neill leads to an episode in which the colonel wakes up as a cloned teenager. Loki embodies the scientist so obsessed with his goal that he forgets all ethics, a theme dear to science fiction.
The actor
Loki is voiced by Peter DeLuise, a central name in the Stargate franchise: director and writer of a great many episodes and son of comedian Dom DeLuise, he lends his voice here to the renegade Asgard.
