Sateda is episode 4 of season 3 of Stargate Atlantis, first aired in 2006.
Ronon is recaptured by the Wraith... and released: the officer who made him a Runner wants to replay his favorite hunt, on Sateda itself, in the ruins of his home world. The team refuses to abandon him, and the homecoming becomes the reckoning of a lifetime: seven years of running, a massacred people, and a final duel among ghosts.
Why it matters to the mythology
The Sateda account is settled: Ronon faces the executioner of his world and closes his founding wound, with his friends at his side for the first time.
The review
Ronon's best episode, and one of the series' high points: Sateda in ruins is a twilight Western setting, the reversed hunt delivers on its visceral promises, and the flashbacks finally put a face on everything the character has lost. Beckett in his jumper as improbable cavalry brings the perfect comic breather. The final duel, settled with a rocket launcher by friends who refuse the honor duel, is the series' finest declaration of friendship. Immense.
