Cameron Mitchell

Cameron Mitchell is SG-1's number one fan, who one day finds himself leading it. A heroic pilot, he arrives with one fixed idea: to reunite the legendary team. The problem is that all his heroes are, at that very moment, going their separate ways.

Mitchell earns the right to choose his assignment after an act of bravery: at the Battle of Antarctica, he saved lives at the risk of his own. And his dream is SG-1, the most famous team in the program. Except that when he arrives, the legendary lineup is scattering, and he has to fight to put it back together.

Taking command of SG-1 after growing up admiring its exploits is anything but easy. Mitchell has to hold his own among veterans, find his place without stepping on anyone, and prove he deserves the job. He manages it through his energy, his sense of humor and a courage that never falters.

With Mitchell, SG-1's final era gets a second wind. He embodies the passing of the torch: the generation that grew up with the legend and is about to write the next chapter. Loyal, gung-ho and deeply human, he wins his slightly crazy bet: to make SG-1 the best team in the galaxy once again.

The wink to fans is delicious. To relaunch SG-1, the producers called on Ben Browder, quietly reuniting the lead duo of Farscape. Born in 1962 in Memphis, this former athlete who trained on the London stage had become famous playing John Crichton, the lost astronaut of Farscape.

Joining SG-1 in 2005 as Cameron Mitchell, he was reunited with his co-star Claudia Black, and brought the series his slightly offbeat charm and his natural leader's energy.

An award winner several times over for Farscape, Ben Browder is one of those actors science fiction fans follow faithfully from series to series. With Mitchell, he gave SG-1 a new face for its final adventures.
